On 29 June 2026, we officially launched mosa.cloud
At Studio Radium in Maastricht, we brought together service providers, partners, entrepreneurs and people interested in working on the future of European technology for the very first mosa.event.
Not for an afternoon of endless presentations, but to talk, question, demonstrate and explore what digital sovereignty can look like in practice.
And, of course, to officially launch mosa.cloud.
From an idea to a launch
Europe's digital dependence is no longer a niche discussion.
More organisations are asking where their data lives, who controls the technology they depend on and whether there are credible European alternatives that still offer the experience, collaboration and AI capabilities people expect from modern software.
That is exactly the challenge mosa.cloud was created to address.
During mosa.event, founders Riël Notermans and Niels Kersic shared the story behind mosa.cloud, why they believe open source is an essential part of digital sovereignty and how their 15 years of experience as a service provider shaped the platform we're building today.
Then came the moment we'd been working towards: the official launch of mosa.cloud.
More than a product launch
The day wasn't just about showing what we've built. Through talks, live demonstrations, panel discussions and smaller break-out sessions, we explored the wider ecosystem needed to make European digital autonomy work.
We talked about sovereign email, European AI, open source, infrastructure, the role of service providers and, most importantly, how all these pieces can work together.
Because digital sovereignty isn't something one company can build alone. It requires an ecosystem.
